I'm an artist, designer and photographer living, working and playing in Silicon Valley.

For as long as I can remember, I've always had to make stuff. Drawing hotrods and dinosaurs in my youth was more than a pastime - it was a compulsion. Building car models with Tommy Wheeler was about as much fun as an 11 year old could have. I still have the German drafting set my Mom got me on one of her trips back home. I excelled at mechanical drawing in Junior High School, and even made a living at it for a couple of years after leaving the military.

Then there's all that time spent with Jimmy Huckabay in the cool Art studio he and his Dad built on the side of their house. It was Art for fun's sake. The oh, so important Ohlone College years with Dave McLaughlin and Tom Harland, printmaking and drawing and painting - I was even lucky enough to have a couple of things hang in the California State Capitol because of those guys. They named me Artist of the year, 1983 at the school on the hill. Those were fun, cool times.

I kept at school, got married, worked for a humongous aerospace company and was living a good life. And then it happened. 1989. My Sister introduced me to Macintosh. That expensive little box changed how I look at everything. A lot of people probably feel the same way. In 1991, ten years after I started, I finally received my AA in Art. Four years later, while working at Lockheed in Sunnyvale, Ed Chan showed me a nifty little application called Mosaic on the Mac I had at my desk. My life hasn't been the same since. The Internet has been very, very good to me.

After five years as Senior Web Designer at Lockheed, I was lured away by The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose. That had to be the best job I've had to date. Smart, friendly, imaginative and creative people all focused on helping young people realize the potential of technology in the world today. I've moved on to Santa Clara University's Office of Marketing and Communications, where I've been working as their Web Marketing Manager for the last year or so. A very busy office with nice people to work with and for, and a challenging position that is totally different from the Web work I've done in the past.

I absolutely love working at SCU!
